Felt Letter Making
How about making fun things with felt, a very practical material? You can both create your own decorations and use felt ornaments designed entirely by you. In this article, we will talk about making felt letters. You can spend quality time and have fun while creating them. Without further delay, let’s move on to how to make felt letters.
Before explaining the process, we need to gather the necessary materials. The materials used for making felt letters are as follows:
- 3 pieces of felt in the color of your choice
- Scissors
- Needle
- Thread
- Fiber filling
- Hot glue gun
- Letter templates
- Beads
Making Felt Letters
These will be our materials. Once you have decided what you want to write, you can prepare or purchase the letter templates you will use. Now that we have completed our materials, we can start making felt letters. Below, we will explain the felt letter-making process step by step.
- Place the letter template on the felt in your chosen color and trace the letter with a pen. Make sure to prepare each letter as a pair.
- Using scissors, cut out the letters you traced and place them in front of you.
- After completing the cutting process, use your needle and thread (it is best to choose a thread in the same color as the felt) and sew from the underside of the felt upward as shown above.
- Then pull the thread you stitched to gather it. Join the ends and sew them together. Sew the bead into the empty center of the flower using your needle.
- Now you can start decorating your letters. Once you have attached the bead to your flower, sew the flower onto the letter. Take your green thread and needle and sew in a decorative pattern as shown in the image above. Sew the felt pieces you cut onto the letter as shown in the picture.
- Place the matching letter pieces together and start sewing them. Leave a small opening, fill it with fiber, and then sew the remaining part closed.
- In the same way, decorate the other letters and fill them with fiber. Your felt decoration is now ready—it looks great.
- Your felt decorations are now complete. You can also decorate the felt letters you made according to your own preference.
