Ironing and Pattern Printing Felts

When you come across many products consisting of patterned felt models such as ironing and pattern printing felts, have you ever wondered how they are made? In this article, we will talk about ironing and pattern printing felts and their areas of use. During the feeding process, leather is transferred to cylinders with the help of felts in order to give the processed surface its final form and is exposed to high pressure. Here, our felts, which have a wide product range, extend from thick products to thin leather groups. Our end-user products can be adapted to many processes, from ironing to deep shaping.

Transfer Printing Felts

Transfer printing felts, made using only aramid fibers, are one of the most important components of machines that transfer patterns from paper onto fabric through the interaction of high pressure and temperature. They are also felts used for ironing and fixing synthetic fabrics produced for home textiles at high temperatures, as well as for laminating two fabrics together.

They are manufactured in original and custom dimensions for all brands of transfer printing machines, home textile ironing machines, and lamination machines. Their inner structure is produced from durable materials such as Kevlar. The surface is needled. The surface is made of 100% Nomex.

Use of Transfer Printing Felts

Maximum recommended operating temperature: capable of operating at 240°.

Felt thickness to be used: 6–8 mm standard thickness.

Transfer printing felts are used in transfer printing machines, fixing calendar (ironing) machines, and film lamination printing machines. Transfer printing felts are suitable for use with machines such as Monti, Klieverik, Transmatic, Lemaire, Stork, Sublistatic, Bizmak, Tural Makine, Practix, Bates, Gessner, and Hazar Makine.

Considerations in the Design of Ironing and Pattern Printing Felts

  • Ironing and embossing felts are designed to eliminate almost all risks such as folding or uneven embossing.
  • Their soft surface structure is the result of a special process that ensures constant thickness and uniform surface hardness.
  • With their antistatic structure, they help prevent static electricity problems that occur especially during ironing processes in winter months.
  • For very sensitive leather ironing applications, 100% wool felts are produced for mixed and delicate leathers.
  • High-pressure felts are produced for deep embossing and heavy embossing machines.
