Felt Used for Mask Making

The felt used in mask manufacturing, also known as nonwoven felt, is a product that is widely used across a broad range of industrial fields. Unlike woven materials and having a different structure, this material is used in many areas, primarily in the furniture, textile, and medical sectors. The formation of this semi-finished product is explained by the combination of polypropylene and polyester fibers through the needle-punching method. In recent times, occupational safety equipment has also become highly popular. Certain rules defined by regulations impose specific obligations on all businesses, employers, and employees. Especially for people working under challenging conditions, wearing masks becomes a necessity in certain situations.

Considering difficult working conditions, the precautions people take by using masks are seen as highly beneficial and advantageous in terms of health. In order to prevent occupational diseases and protect human health, government authorities have taken the necessary measures. The Ministry of Labor and Social Security and occupational safety specialists working under it are obliged to take the necessary precautions regarding protective equipment and accessories and to recommend the correct products.

The N95 mask produced using KN95 mask felt is known as a dust mask and is used in many sectors. These types of masks are used in all workplaces where dust is present. Thanks to the occupational safety department within a company, the needs of employees are determined and met. In this way, scientific studies determine which mask should be used in which workplace. In a broad field such as occupational safety, many different types of masks are used. Masks produced with correctly selected mask felt and under proper conditions provide an important protective measure for employees.

Nonwoven Felt for Masks

The felts used in mask manufacturing are multi-layered and are commonly referred to as 50-gram felt in terms of weight. Nonwoven felt for masks is carefully prepared and used for this purpose. Thanks to the use of this raw material, dust masks can be both long-lasting and practical. N95 mask felt is among the felt models used for masks. Such masks became an invaluable asset for the entire world, especially during the pandemic period. Even in the largest and most developed countries, mask shortages emerged. Both surgical masks and N95 masks became among the most difficult products to access. In this regard, our country, being a producer of raw materials, semi-finished goods, and finished products, became one of the countries that supplied masks to the market most easily.

Nonwoven felt, which is heavily used in the bedding and furniture sectors, is also among the most reliable materials in the medical sector. Masks made from such materials, whose protective qualities have been proven, represent a very important opportunity for people. The pandemic process made these opportunities more visible and evident.

Nonwoven fabrics have been used for many years in the textile, furniture, medical, and occupational safety accessories sectors. These types of fabrics have also been referred to by different names such as interlining or felt. Such non-permeable fabrics have been among the healthiest materials recommended for health. Masks that protect against dust and microbes are among the most trusted products by people in both industrial and healthcare sectors. With the use of nonwoven felt for masks, durable and high-quality products have emerged. If a sectoral evaluation is required in this field, it can be stated that these materials are used in:

  • Mineral processing operations
  • Furniture and home textile manufacturing
  • Mattress manufacturing
  • Occupational safety equipment manufacturing
  • Medical protective equipment manufacturing
  • Ceramic manufacturing
  • Smelting operations
  • Pharmaceutical industry
  • Filter base applications

The aforementioned mask felt is used in these areas, resulting in highly practical products. Products that stand out with their durability and sealing performance make a significant contribution to industrial development. Mask felt is highly resistant to heat and can withstand temperatures between 165 and 173 degrees Celsius. When this temperature is reached, the product begins to melt. Such temperatures can only be achieved through fire. Therefore, it would not be wrong to describe N95 mask felt as a heat-resistant product. KN95 mask felt is structurally very durable; however, if high force is applied with sharp or piercing objects, the product may be damaged. For this reason, describing mask felt as durable would be accurate.

Types of Felt Used in Mask Manufacturing

To produce a healthy and high-quality product, it is necessary to use strong and high-quality materials. In masks used safely in both the healthcare and industrial sectors, choosing the right material and raw material is one of the most important factors. An evaluation can be made by examining the variety of felts used in mask manufacturing. Among the highly practical product options in this field, 50-gram felt has always been one of the leading choices.

Protective masks have become a part of our lives with Covid. It is also likely that different pandemic processes may emerge in the future. Therefore, masks must always be accessible. As long as the supply of felt for masks is ensured, mask production can be carried out easily and people can access these essential products. KN95 mask felt is among the products that can be easily obtained in our country. Companies producing high-quality products in this area create an advantage for the entire country. Under conditions such as occupational safety, which should never be overlooked, N95 mask felt is among the most important and necessary materials. The use of solid materials in mask production and supply helps ensure the emergence of high-quality products.

Prices of Nonwoven Felt for Masks

During mask production, product quality and affordable prices are always taken into consideration. As long as nonwoven felt for masks is used, achieving quality in this field becomes much easier. Thanks to strong and highly practical materials, it is possible to obtain an aesthetically pleasing product. The durability of polyester material and the advantages it offers in insulation are utilized for health-related purposes. Companies that prefer nonwoven felt can more easily produce safer masks as a result of this choice.

With the supply of mask felt, material support is provided to a very large sector. Using harmless—and even beneficial—petroleum-based products, durable and economical materials are prepared for many industries. Due to the strength of the raw material, masks prove to be durable and long-lasting. Nonwoven felt prices for masks are quite economical and affordable according to market conditions. With the durability and practical structure of these products, it becomes possible to more clearly observe the advantages they offer. Although the product is referred to as mask felt, it should be remembered that such durable materials are used in many sectors. The product, which is very aesthetic in appearance, also stands out with its wide range of applications.

Thanks to the raw material that does not allow dust and particles to pass through, very durable and economical mask models are produced. With this solid material, which has low permeability to bacteria and viruses, mask models that protect healthcare workers in particular have been developed.
