How to Make a Felt Card Wallet

If you often lose your cards and don’t have a wallet to keep them in, you can easily make a felt card wallet using felt. Thanks to the wallet you make, your cards will stay organized and the risk of losing them will be greatly reduced. Depending on how many cards you have, you can design felt card wallets in different sizes. While making your card wallet, you can choose felt in any color you like and decorate it however you want.

Since it is made of felt, it won’t wear out or deform easily. This means you’ll have a long-lasting card wallet. Making a felt card wallet is both very easy and fun. You can do it on your own to enjoy some creative time, or make it together with family or friends for a pleasant activity. You can also gift the card wallets you make to others.

If you want to create card wallets that match your own style, we’ve explained how to make a felt card wallet step by step below.

Materials Needed for a Felt Card Wallet

  • Felt in your preferred color
  • Scissors
  • Needle
  • Thread
  • Glue
  • Pen

Using the template below, prepare 1 large and 3 small patterns by paying attention to their width and length.

  1. Step: Place the printed templates on the felt and trace them with a pen.
The felt dimensions should be 14.8 cm x 5.8 cm.
Trace 1 large piece and 3 small pieces.
  2. Step: After finishing the tracing, carefully and neatly cut out all the felt pieces. Lay them out in front of you.
  3. Step: Place the large felt piece at the bottom and position two of the small pieces at the ends.
  4. Step: Sew the felt pieces together along the edges.
  5. Step: After sewing the large piece and the two small pieces together, turn the felt over. Then sew the remaining third small piece onto either the left or right side (depending on your preference), attaching it at the edges.
  6. Step: Once all sewing is complete, fold the wallet in half from the middle.

Your felt card wallet will be very practical for holding cards, and since it’s made of felt, it will also be durable. It’s a great activity to fill your free time. If you have a child and are looking for a fun activity to do together, this is a perfect option. Making a felt card wallet helps improve your child’s fine motor skills while allowing you to spend quality time together.

As mentioned above, once your wallet is finished, you can decorate it however you like. You can add small felt flowers or even draw designs on it using suitable pens. We’ve explained how to make a felt card wallet in this guide—now it’s your turn to make one and safely store your cards.
